| Do you think it's wrong to celebrate Halloween? I don't think so. I think it's enjoyable and it brings back a lot of memories for me when I was a child and used to go trick-or-treating with my nieces and nephews. We used to go to different people's houses and it didn't matter back then if we knew them or not. It wasn't as dangerous like it is now and I don't blame the parents for only wanting to go to the houses of people they know and only one or two houses. When I'm around them, I don't wear my Halloween shirt or my earrings, either, because I'm afraid it will start a fuss. Some churches, including ours, have trick-or-trunk for the children. I'm aware that some have a Fall Festival and some have what they call a "Halloween Alternative". We used to have a question and answer night years ago at church and I turned in a question about Halloween and our preacher basically said that if you think it's wrong to celebrate it, don't do it. He didn't seem to think it was wrong, himself. He was younger than I was and I'm sure he did a lot of trick-or-treating... |
