I didn't prepare a real big dinner this year. All I cooked was a pork roast, fried some chicken, spinach, string beans, broccoli, cresent rolls, garlic n herb noddles, And for dessert is made cinnamon rolls, and a banana pudding.

| | It went suprisingly well (my "saying no to Easter") | | They actually did a great job of stepping up to the plate.
My brother and sister in law brought the food AND the paper plates.
My niece (she's 21), who had a past history of polarizing the children...she'd tolerate the older kids and shut out the younger ones, has grown up quite a bit.
She bought easter baskets for the kids and brought the entertainment too.
The kids (ages 7-21) all played in the back for the greater part of the day while the adults hung out inside.
My sister and I spoke like nothing happened (which nothing major really had happened) and it was business as usual. Minus the stress of a pre-entertaining cleaning frenzy and minus the pre-Easter mad dash to buy and stuff easter baskets and Easter eggs!I'm glad I chose to "say no to Easter" and I'm glad that they stepped up to the plate.I made a motion to make this the new Easter tradition. I didn't get a second to my motion, but I did get a couple laughs and my sister in law said "sure, I don't mind".He He I remember the days when I said "sure, I don't mind"! | |

| Happy Easter My Friends | | Wanted to personally wish everyone here a wonderful easter Sunday. For me this means Jesus is Risen and a wonderful time to Celebrate Jesus as well. We had a wonderful Service at Church, and then we came home and had a nice dinner, and now I am sitting here in myLot getting a chance to post for a change.Today is also my husbands 50th Birthday, so it is a double Holiday Celebration for us as well. Made a large feast at your home?My day was kinda heavy because of what happened between me and my son last night. This morning I had to be at church for Resurection Service at 5:30 but I didn't get in the bed til after 1am and then I woke up at 4:45am so am what you would call tired. | | How was your Easter? | | This morning we got up to go to church as a family. The service was great especially since my husband got the day off to go with us. They had two service because our church has increased in attendance the past few months so they thought what better day to start these two services. After the first service they had tables full of appetizers and fruit for everyone. I couldn't believe how nice they had made our "linger longer" today. They served mozarella sticks, pizza snacks, jalapeno poppers, and several quiche. They had a coffee bar with different flavors you could choose from. Strawberries dipped in chocolate, melon, tiny muffins, oh my goodness it was unbelieveable.[em]rolleyes[/em][em]thumbup[/em]After church we went to Calico Ghost Town in Yermo. It's like 30 minutes away from us. For $10 dollars a carload you go into this old western style town. They had mine shafts, an Easter egg hunt, panning for gold, egg toss, coloring contest, and a visit from the Easter bunny. All of this for $10 dollars a carload! They were not charging for any of the rides or events, except the train ride. We did so much climbing and hiking. I really thought it would... | |
